In the Southeast of Lake Garda at the foot of the sunny, sloping hills, we find Bardolino, a very popular holiday destination.

If you hear the name Bardoline, you can’t help but think of the delicious, slightly pungent wine that originates in this area. A very popular wine that can be tasted and purchased everywhere in Bardolino.
The fact that Bardolino is also a very old wine, is reflected in the remains of the Roman era. But even remains originating from the prehistoric era were found, that indicate a much older viniculture!
Bardolino itself isn’t a very large area, but it is very popular among tourists. Strolling alongside the coast over the sociable boulevard, the Passeggiata Lungolago, is a very pleasant activity. At the north side we find a long bathing beach and there are also plenty of facilities for those who love water sports.
There are two important churches to be found in Bardolino. The San Zeno perhaps isn’t the most beautiful of the two, but it is one of the oldest churches of Italy and dates back to the 9th century. The San Severo was built in the 12th century, and there are beautiful fresco’s to be admired from that era.
